Supporting students in developing their skills and competences – EU project

The Silesian University of Technology is carrying out a project entitled “Intelligent mechanisms for selective information processing in deep neural networks”, which has received funding of PLN 49,400 under the non-competitive project “Support for students in improving their competences and skills”, implemented by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

The project provides for students to attend the following academic conferences:

  • IEEE World Congress on Computational Intelligence 2026 (dates: 21–26 June 2026, venue: Maastricht, Netherlands),
  • International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Soft Computing ICAISC2026 (dates: 14–18 June 2026, venue: Zakopane, Poland).

Project Title:
Supporting students in enhancing their competences and skills.

Tasks and activities to be carried out under the Project:
The Project aims to support universities (entities directly benefiting from the support) by enabling students to participate in international competitions, contests and conferences.

Project target groups:
The target group for the Project consists of higher education institutions and students. The Project is aimed at students or teams of students whose development potential and previous experience suggest they have the potential to win top-tier international competitions and contests.

Project Objective:
The objective of the Project is to support students in developing their:

  • competences and skills,
  • research activity,
  • innovation,
  • creativity,

by enabling them to participate in international competitions, contests and conferences.

Project results:
The project will result in participants in higher education acquiring competences, qualifications or skills, and in an increase in the overall number of students who, within the higher education system, take part in various forms of international competition

Project value (total eligible expenditure):
PLN 27 500 000.00

Amount of co-financing from European funds (contribution from European Funds):
PLN 22 693 000.00
