Prof. Olga Macedońska-Nosalska, has passed away

We regret to announce that Prof. Olga Macedońska-Nosalska, Honorary Professor at the Silesian University of Technology, passed away on Friday, July 3, 2026. The funeral will take place on Tuesday at 12:00 p.m. at the cemetery on Francuska Street in Katowice. We will provide more information shortly.

The Department of Thermal Engineering at the Silesian University of Technology, together with its industry partners, is announcing a nationwide competition for the best Master’s thesis on the application of computational methods to the simulation of thermal and flow processes. The aim of the competition is to promote students’ achievements in the application of computational techniques in the broadly defined field of thermal engineering. Thanks to the presence of representatives from industry and software companies on the competition jury, information about the best theses and their authors will reach potential employers.

It is with great pleasure and pride that we announce that the Student Council of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics has been awarded the Rector’s Prize for coming first in the ‘Ankietyzacja’ campaign. Supporting students in developing their skills and competences – EU project

The Silesian University of Technology is carrying out a project entitled “Intelligent mechanisms for selective information processing in deep neural networks”, which has received funding of PLN 49,400 under the non-competitive project “Support for students in improving their competences and skills”, implemented by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
