Competition for the best master's thesis

The Department of Thermal Engineering of the Silesian University of Technology, together with industrial partners, announces a nationwide competition for the best master's thesis on the application of computational methods to the simulation of thermal and flow processes. The aim of the competition is to promote students' achievements in the field of applications of computational techniques in the broadly understood thermal engineering. Thanks to the presence of industry and software company representatives in the competition jury, information about the best works and their authors will reach potential employers.

This year's edition of the competition accepts master's theses and outstanding engineering theses defended between January 1, 2024 and December 31, 2024, written in Polish or English.

The work can be sent until March 31, 2025 in electronic form (PDF file) to jakub.bodys@polsl.pl The competition results will be known in June 2025.

The selection of the best diplomas will be carried out in two stages. In the first stage, four or five finalists will be selected from among the works submitted to the competition. The second stage will consist of presenting the final works to a jury selected by the institutions organizing the competition.

The final works will be distinguished with cash prizes funded by Hitachi Energy, SymKom, MESco and SBB Energy. The total prize pool is approximately PLN 20,000.
