800 doughnuts for the 80th anniversary of the Silesian University of Technology!
His Magnificence Rector of the Silesian University of Technology Prof. Dr Hab. Eng. Marek Pawełczyk, Prof. Dr Hab. Eng Anna Chrobok, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Education invite students of our University to a doughnut, autumn tea and many other attractions.
It is a unique opportunity to eat a doughnut together with the rector authorities, drink tea, and at the same time get to know each other and talk.
– Why doughnuts? Doughnuts are a tradition at our University, because we give them to the participants of the meetings of the Senate of the Silesian University of Technology, so they are associated with the deliberations of the authorities, and we want our students to feel good in these sessions – says Prof. Dr Hab. Eng. Anna Chrobok , Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Education at the Silesian University of Technology – We want all students of the Silesian University of Technology to get to know the Rector and me, so that they know who they can turn to for any help – added professor Chrobok.
Meetings combined with the University’s jubilee will be held at three campuses of the Silesian University of Technology:
- 13 November, 12:00 in the main hall of the Faculty of Mining, Safety Engineering, and Industrial Automation in Gliwice
- 27 November, 12:00 at the main entrance in the Silesian University of Technology building in Katowice at 8, Z. Krasińskiego Street
- 4 December, at 12:00 in the main hall in EHTIC in Zabrze at 40A Roosevelta Street
The program also includes prizes quizzes and live music. We cordially invite you to participate.

Prof. Olga Macedońska-Nosalska, has passed away
We regret to announce that Prof. Olga Macedońska-Nosalska, Honorary Professor at the Silesian University of Technology, passed away on Friday, July 3, 2026. The funeral will take place on Tuesday at 12:00 p.m. at the cemetery on Francuska Street in Katowice.
