Perspektywy 2024 University Rankings

The results of the Perspektywy 2024 University Rankings have been announced. We are pleased to announce that the fields of study conducted at our Faculty took high places in the ranking:

  • Mathematics is in 11th place in the country out of 29 assessed fields,
  • Computer science is in 5th place out of 28 assessed fields.

Congratulations to all employees and students for contributing to such good results of the courses conducted at our Faculty!

The ranking is an important tool for university candidates who have to make one of the most important life decisions about choosing a university and a field of study. The published lists are a collection of information for high school graduates that arm their decision with important arguments. The ranking took into account several evaluation criteria: prestige, graduates on the labor market, academic potential, teaching potential, scientific potential, internationalization, scientific effectiveness, innovation and educational conditions.

Success of students from the Faculty of Applied Mathematics at HackYeah 2025

Students from the Faculty of Applied Mathematics at the Silesian University of Technology have shown that creativity and knowledge are the keys to success! Two of our students were part of the team that won an award at Europe's largest hackathon – HackYeah 2025.

Representative of our Faculty at the European Congress of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises

The 15th edition of the European Congress of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, the largest event dedicated to the SME sector in Europe, has come to an end at the International Congress Centre in Katowice. As every year, scientists from the Silesian University of Technology took part in the panels and discussions. Adrian Kapczyński, EngD., an employee of the Department of Applied Mathematics, also took part in the event, leading a discussion on cybersecurity.

It is with deep regret that we announce that on 27 October 2025, at the age of 85, dr hab. nauk matematycznych Stefan Czerwik, prof. PŚ, (Doctor of Mathematical Sciences, Professor SUT) retired employee of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics, passed away.
