Program Educational Objectives

The main Program Educational Objectives of the CEIE program at the BSc level are:

  • Career development: Graduates will be fully prepared to enter the competitive job market in a wide range of industries and IT services as employees or entrepreneurs or be engaged in advanced study. (PEO_1); this comprises the following partial aims:
    • gaining knowledge in basic subjects, including mathematics and physics as well as subjects in the fields of social and economic sciences (PEO_1_1),
    • acquiring knowledge and skills in the field of specialization subjects and preparing to work in engineering professions (PEO_1_2),
    • acquiring knowledge and practical skills characteristic for the chosen specialization (PEO_1_3),
    • acquiring practical communication skills preparing students to participate in professional discussions and present their work in a clear and concise way (PEO_1_4),
    • acquiring knowledge and practical skills needed to perform leadership roles in planning, coordinating and supervising projects, both small- and large-scale (PEO_1_5).
  • Professional service with integrity: Graduates will actively participate in professional and community groups while upholding the highest ethical standards (PEO_2).
  • Addressing important problems: Graduates will use their knowledge and skills gained in the CEIE program to recognize and make a significant, positive impact on current and future societal challenges (PEO_3).

During the first semesters of the BSc. Eng. program, students acquire thorough knowledge of mathematics, physics, computer science fundamentals and basic technical sciences: electrical engineering, control theory, electronics, metrology, computer programming, microprocessor systems, databases, computer networks, artificial intelligence and computer graphics. Special emphasis is placed on the ability to practically solve engineering problems using the acquired knowledge. Design subjects are oriented towards the development of teamwork, taking into account team roles. After completing the fifth semester, students choose one of the three proposed specialties according to their interests, which allows them to broaden their skills and knowledge of Automatic Control, Electronics and Telecommunication or Computer Science.

The study program meets the standards of European universities, so students can participate in exchange programs and study for a semester or two at foreign universities (within the Erasmus program).

The acquired knowledge and practical experience make the graduates fully prepared to solve technical problems in the field of their specialization. Such graduates may find employment as designers or operators of control systems, software engineers, database specialists, metrologists, hardware designers, etc.

After completing their first degree, graduates can enter the job market as highly qualified specialists or continue their education during their second degree studies.
