Graduation procedure
Final BSc exams are organized according to the Studies Regulations and Ordinance No 200/2020 of the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology dated.
The university system apd.polsl.pl is used for communication between the student and members of the examination commission.
The Vice Dean for Education announces the date range for final BSc exams, for students who submitted their theses submitted before deadline stated in Regulations of Study.
The BSc diploma examination consists of two parts: a presentation of the results of the diploma thesis and the question and answer session , verifying the achievement of the learning outcomes relevant to the programme of studies. The presentation should include the thesis topic, statement of its objectives, research methodology, obtained results and final conclusions. The main focus should be on the presentation of Student's own achievements and not on the theoretical background. The time allotted for the presentation is determined by the exam commission, but should not exceed 10 minutes.
Submission of Final Project
Submission of Final Project involves uploading the .pdf file to the apd.polsl.pl system and getting its approval by the supervisor in the APD system, sending an e-mail request for appointing the examination commission and submitting hardcopies of all required documents according to the procedure available at the Students Office website. The required hardcopy documents should be submitted to the Students Office no later than 4 days after the deadline for electronic submission.

- Upload of the Thesis to the APD system is the first step, initiating the graduation process. It must be completed before the deadline announced by the Vice Dean for Education
- After uploading the Thesis to the APD system, on the same day, the Student sends an e-mail request for appointing the examination commission, written according to the current template, addressed to egzaminydyplomowe_rau@polsl.pl. This applies also to students who are reactivated for the diploma exam only. In their case, if thesis has been uploaded to APD system before deadlines announcement, the request should be sent by the deadline for submitting diploma thesis in electronic version.
- The student can be admitted to the final exam only after fulfilling all conditions, listed in the Studies Regulations, in particular meeting all requirements defined in the study programme and submitting hard copy of all necessary documents/annexes to Students Service Offices
- The date of the diploma examination and the diploma commission are determined only if the student did the following: uploaded the Thesis to the APD systems, sent an e-mail request for appointing the examination commission and submitted all required documents to the Students Office
- Detailed Information about the diploma examination, including a list of commission members, date, hour and room (if the exam is held in the faculty building) of the examination is sent to the student’s APD account immediately after it has been completed
- In the case of remote diploma exams, information about the ICT platform is sent to the student in an e mail
- The procedure for conducting and grading the diploma examination in the system is described in the APD Manual. If the Examination is conducted online, its rules are described in the Studies Regulations and current Rector’s ordinances.
