International Congress on the Quality of Education
The International Congress on the Quality of Education will be held on October 18-20 in Katowice. We invite all academic teachers to take part in the event, in particular in the following Congress activities (descriptions on the Congress website):
- Concert on October 18 (registration required, free event)
- Events at the Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering on October 18 at 11.00 (presentation of the Student Activity Center)
- Formal inauguration on October 19 (registration required)
- meeting for students and meeting for PhD students
- ceremonial panel and accompanying panels

Gold Medal for Long-term Service for our Employee
It is with great honour that we inform you that Roman Wituła, DSc, Eng., Assoc. Prof. at Silesian University of Technology, a long-standing employee of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics, has been awarded the Gold Medal for Long-term Service, conferred by the President of the Republic of Poland.
Language success of students of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics
Two students of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics qualified for the second stage of the XXVI National Higher Technical Education English Language Olympiad!
Nearly 600 students from 15 technical universities from all over Poland took part in the competition. Congratulations and we keep our fingers crossed for further success!
Success of our Student in the competition "My Idea for Business"
A student of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics, Adrianna Maszniew, has won 3rd place in the 21st edition of the “My Idea for Business” competition!
The competition promotes entrepreneurship among students of the Silesian University of Technology, and her project was recognized for its innovation and market potential. Congratulations!
Report on the VII Chess Tournament for the Applied Mathematics Faculty Championship
The annual Applied Mathematics Faculty Championship Chess Tournament was held on 30 May 2025. This was the seventh edition of the Applied Mathematics Faculty Chess Championship. This year's event was characterised by a record number of participants, as well as a high level.
