Analysis of selected test results PMU device type in the context of normative requirements
We invite you to read the research article by Prof. Dr Hab. Eng. Adrian Halinka and Mariusz Talaga published in the journal Wiadomości Elektrotechniczne.
Abstract: In recent years, WAMS (Wide Area Measurement Systems) have been used to solve some of the needs of transmission or distribution operators. These systems are based on Phasor Measurement Unit (PMU) devices supplied by various manufacturers. These devices are expected to meet the metrological and data transmission requirements specified in the standards, which is to ensure interoperability of devices . The article notes that the requirements are not sufficiently well defined and do not guarantee interoperability of devices , which can lead to significant measurement errors. The article further proposes additional requirements and indicates the need for extended type testing. In the authors' opinion, the requirements should be assessed in the context of use in an application to solve a specific problem. The motivation for work in this area was participation in a project to build a pilot WAMS in the Polish transmission system
