Student participation in the logistics rally to Żywiec
At the end of May this year, students of Logistics from the Faculty of Organization and Management of the Silesian University of Technology took part in a unique logistics rally to Żywiec, which was an excellent opportunity to expand their knowledge, integrate and learn the secrets of how the logistics industry operates.
One of the main points of the program was a visit to the Archduke Brewery in Żywiec, where participants had the opportunity to learn about the beer production process and related logistics processes. At the brewery, we were welcomed by the purchasing director, Mr. Maciej Borowski, a graduate of our Faculty. A special attraction was an interesting presentation about the brewery, given by the factory director, Mr. Łukasz Szorek. Students also had the opportunity to listen to employees of the Logistics Department and the Production Department, who shared their knowledge and experience, presenting key aspects of supply chain management in the brewing industry.
The group had the opportunity to visit the city of Żywiec, learn about its history and taste local culinary specialties, which was a great complement to the trip. However, the students did not limit themselves to just learning and sightseeing - they also played a football match, spent time walking around Lake Żywiec and took part in a joint game, playing charades and organizing an evening barbecue. It is worth adding that during the evening barbecue, scientific discussions took place, especially around the topics of engineering works.
Heartfelt thanks are due to the organizers of the rally – 3rd year students of Logistics and people who got involved in its implementation – Mr. Łukasz Gabor was particularly involved. Thanks are also due to the students' supervisors: Professor Marzena Kramarz, Dr. Eng. Jadwiga Grabowska and Dr. Eng. Tomasz Szulc. Thanks to their efforts, students had the opportunity to gain practical knowledge, as well as spend time in an atmosphere of cooperation and integration. The event will undoubtedly remain in the participants' memory for a long time as an inspiring and valuable trip.
