“Fundamentals of Bubble Column Reactors – Theory and Practice”

This short course will cover the most important topics on hydrodynamics, mixing, mass and heat transfer and latest developments in the field of bubble column reactors. Various results about bubble diameters, gas holdups, axial dispersion coefficients, gas-liquid interfacial areas, mass and heat transfer coefficients, etc. under different operating conditions (including the cases of physical absorption and desorption) will be discussed. Numerous new advanced methods for flow regime identification in bubble column reactors will be presented. Last but not least, the presence of catalyst particles will be discussed.
