BRIDGE DAYS – Bridge Workshops at UBC in Canada!
BRIDGE DAYS – Bridge Workshops at UBC in Canada with the participation of the Silesian University of Technology.
The initiative to organise the workshops stems from the dynamically developing cooperation between the University of British Columbia (UBC) and the Silesian University of Technology, particularly in the field of digitisation of construction processes and bridge engineering.
We are pleased to announce that on 5–6 August 2025, a unique workshop entitled ‘Bridge Design, Maintenance, and Digital Structural Health Monitoring (DSHM)’ will be held at the UBC Okanagan campus in Kelowna (Canada).
This two-day event will be devoted to modern solutions in the design, maintenance and monitoring of the technical condition of bridges.
We are particularly proud of the fact that most of the lectures will be given by scientists and engineers from the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the Silesian University of Technology:
- Dr Muhammad Fawad
- Dr Marcin Jasiński
- Dawid Piotrowski, Eng.
All of them are currently conducting research as part of their research internships at UBC. In July, Prof. Marek Salamak, who has been awarded the title of Affiliated Professor at UBC, will also join the team — an important step towards long-term cooperation between our universities.
Location: UBCO, 1137 Alumni Ave, Kelowna, BC, Canada
Date: 5–6 August 2025
Format: In-person event
