Faculty of Civil Engineering

On December 10, 2024, the Faculty of Civil Engineering will be visited by Oleksandr Zhurawskyi, PhD, professor at Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture. The visit will take place within the framework of the project "Supporting cooperation between the Silesian University of Technology and Ukrainian universities within the EURECA-PRO European University."

Professor Oleksandr Zhurawskyi serves as Head of the Department of Reinforced Concrete Structures. He is a specialist in computational methods of reinforced concrete structures subjected to complex loads. He conducts research in the field of:

• reinforced concrete two-way flexural slabs, mainly slab-and-column systems,
• steel and basalt fiber reinforced structures,
• technical condition assessment and strengthening of reinforced concrete and stone structures.

On Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at 12:00 p.m., in the Faculty Council Room, Professor Oleksandr Zhurawskyi will deliver a lecture in which he will present the activities of the Kyiv National Institute of Construction and Architecture and the current situation in Ukraine in the context of construction and the need to rebuild infrastructure.
