A Commission notice on battery-related data sharing (C/2025/4907) under the revised Renewable Energy Directive has been published 25.07.2025 aimed at helping EU countries implement Article 20a, paragraph 3 of the directive. Aimed at giving more transparency and supporting the energy transition - these provisions relate to real-time, cost-free sharing of electric vehicle battery data with users and authorised third parties, covering elements such as the state of charge, health of the battery and location. The aim of this document is to make it easier for EU countries to adopt a uniform approach to the requirements.
