We are pleased to announce that on the Polish Science Day, prof. Łukasz Drobiec received an Individual Award of the Minister of Education and Science for implementation achievements. Two implementations were submitted for the award. The first is to develop a special masonry element that enables two-way wall reinforcement. The necessity to design such an element resulted from the design assumptions of the high-rise building erected at Złota Street 44 in Warsaw. The main designer of this skyscraper was Daniel Libeskind, a famous American architect of contemporary Polish-Jewish origin.

The second implementation of prof. Łukasz Drobec is the development of technical documentation, research and implementation for the production of Vector floors. These floors are a completely new solution and constitute a kind of hybrid of composite floors and rib-and-block floors. The main advantage of Vector floors is low weight, excellent acoustic insulation, low cost of execution and easy assembly. The floors were put into production in 2018 and 2019 by Konbet Poznań sp. z o.o. sp. k. and Fabryka Stropów sp. z o.o.
