This webinar will explore how authors can communicate the societal relevance in context of the Sustainable Development Goals of their research clearly, credibly and responsibly. Participants will learn: - the significance of SDGs in research - different SDG classification methods and what they aim to illuminate - how publications are mapped to the SDGS in Scopus - avoiding common misrepresentations, such as adding SDG - references merely to increase visibility - how Scopus and SciVal can help situate your research within the broader SDG landscape - practical guidance for making SDG relevance of studies visible to readers and research discovery systems Who should attend? This webinar is intended for researchers, authors, doctoral candidates, research managers and other members of the university community interested in: - understanding how SDG-related research is identified in Scopus; - communicating the societal relevance of research more effectively; - exploring institutional and national SDG research profiles; - identifying research trends, gaps and collaboration opportunities; - using Scopus and SciVal to support SDG research planning and discovery. Outcomes By the end of the session, participants will be able to: - explain why SDGs are relevant in research; - understand how Elsevier maps publications to the SDGs; - communicate SDG-relevant research clearly and responsibly; - use Scopus and SciVal to explore individual, institutional and national contributions to SDGs.
