Study visit of Logistics students to the State Fire Service in Gliwice
The purpose of the study visit was to familiarize Logistics students with the functioning of the State Fire Service in the context of logistics management in the urban area. The visit was small to deepen theoretical and practical knowledge of the organization and logistics of rescue operations in urban conditions.
The students were welcomed by junior aspirant Amadeusz Hassa, who gave a very detailed presentation on the structure, tasks and challenges of logistics management in the Fire Department. The firefighter presented and discussed the equipment and vehicles used during rescue operations, including specialized tactical equipment. He also discussed how fire and other local threats are identified, the organization and conduct of rescue operations during fires, natural disasters or the elimination of local threats, and the performance of auxiliary specialized rescue operations during various threats. The information provided about the work of firefighters was very interesting.
The National Fire Service plays a key role in city logistics. Their logistical tasks are not limited to firefighting, but also include a wide range of rescue, evacuation and prevention activities. The PSP coordinates emergency operations, manages resources, plans access routes, and stores and distributes necessary equipment and materials. Thanks to these activities, firefighters are able to respond quickly and effectively to threats, minimizing losses and protecting the lives and property of the city's residents. Cooperation with other services and institutions allows the city to be better prepared for a variety of emergencies and crisis situations.
