Success of students from the Faculty of Applied Mathematics at BIT Festival 2025 - Hackathon

A team of students from the Faculty of Applied Mathematics, consisting of Rafał Gibała, Paweł Hajok, and Karol Zając (‘Monkey Testing’), took third place during the Hackathon held as part of BITFestival 2025 (29 November 2025 - 30 November 2025).

BITFestival Hackathon is a 24-hour programming competition, one of the flagship projects of the BEST Gliwice Student Association. In 2025, the 16th edition of this event took place, divided into two main categories: classic and game jam.

The theme of the programmes to be developed in the classic category was ‘Let's do it together’ – open to interpretation, but primarily focused on bringing people together.

The award-winning application developed by the ‘Monkey Testing’ team is a mobile app for a group of card players, thanks to which users can meet to play various card games, such as Pokemon, Magic: The Gathering, Star Wars, etc.

Thanks to AI, the sorting of events is adapted to the description provided by the user, as well as to the selected card games and types of games. The application innovatively brings together a whole group of players who play various card games, not just one selected game, thus building a new community with common interests.

We warmly congratulate our students on such an excellent result!
