Student Scientific Circle "Extraterrestrial Construction" at international space conference
On May 23-24, Krakow hosted an international space conference: the VII Space Resources Conference - Towards Artemis Generation. The Student Scientific Circle "Extraterrestrial Construction" took part in it and presented the results of its research on future building materials on the Moon.
Students Alicja Gowarzewska and Wiktoria Ploneczka, presented a poster entitled. "Research on Material for Constructing Extraterrestrial Object", They also took part in a competition, which consisted of a 2-min speech on the research conducted and answering questions from the competition committee. Our students did very well obtaining certificates.
The topics of the conference were related to space technology in the broadest sense, with particular emphasis on the Moon. It was attended by speakers from the ESA, USA, Japan and India, among others, i.e. representatives of countries actively exploring the Moon. The supervisors of SKN "BP", consisting of Dr. Magdalena Mrozek, Dr. Dawid Mrozek and Dr. Mateusz Smolana, prepared presentations titled "The Moon:
- "Conception of geopolymer as a building material of a base located on the Moon",
- "Concepts of lunar habitats based on their form, function and location".
Participation in the conference gave all participants a broader perspective and indicated the need for further development of off-site construction.
