Invitation to the Inter-University Academic Year 2022/2023 Inauguration

The universities that are part of the Academic Consortium Katowice - City of Science will jointly inaugurate the 2022/2023 academic year.

The ceremony will take place on 30 September 2022 at 10.00 a.m. in the National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra concert hall in Katowice. Rector procession through the streets of Katowice will precede it. It will conclude with a concert performed by the National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

A necessary condition for research and education development is its continuity and longevity. Therefore, we would like to cordially invite you to the first joint Inter-University Academic Year 2022/2023 Inauguration in the history of Silesian public universities.

One of the key events of the past academic year was the granting of the title of European City of Science 2024 to Katowice city by the EuroScience association. This prestigious award goes to a Polish Academic City for the first time. The successful endeavour is the outcome of a joint effort by Katowice City Hall and the academic community of Katowice's public universities. To best prepare for the events of 2024, the rectors of Katowice's public universities have established the Academic Consortium Katowice - City of Science.

The Inter-University Academic Year 2022/2023 Inauguration ceremony will begin on 30 September at 10.00 a.m. in the concert hall of the National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra. Rector procession through the streets of Katowice will precede it and crown with a concert performed by the National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra.
