XIV PPM Conference 2022, Gliwice, 6 June 2022
On June 6, 2022, the XIV Conference on Problems and Progress in Metrology 2022 (PPM'22) was held at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice. The conference was held under the honorary patronage of His Magnificence Rector of the Silesian University of Technology and the Mayor of Gliwice. Scientific and institutional patronage was exercised by the Central Office of Measures in Warsaw, the Polish Centre for Accreditation in Warsaw, and the Metrology Commission of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Katowice.
The ceremonial opening session was led by the Chairman of the Organising Committee of the PPM'22 Conference, the Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Prof. Marian Kampik. During the session, the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology, Prof. Arkadiusz Mężyk and Vice President of the Central Office of Measures Rafał Kępka. Congratulatory letters were also read from the Mayor of Gliwice and the Director of the Polish Centre for Accreditation in Warsaw. During the opening session, a paper presenting an unconventional approach to determining measurement uncertainty was delivered by prof. Jerzy Jakubiec. During the conference, a total of 44 works were presented, including 21 in verbal form and 23 in the form of posters. The conference ended with a gala dinner in the representative hall of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering.

Two distinctions and the IEEE Gold Medal for Professor Marian Kampik
We are proud to announce that the Head of our Department, Prof. Marian Kampik, received two distinctions and the Gold Medal of the prestigious Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) for publishing activity in the journal "Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement" over the last seven years.
Study visit to the FCA Poland plant
On 10 May 2018, a group of students from Power Engineering, Semester IV, participated in a study visit to the FCA Poland plant in Tychy. The students were supervised by employees of the Department of Metrology, Electronics and Automatics: Ph.D. Janusz Tokarski, Ph.D. Ryszard Bogacz, and Ph.D. Beata Krupanek. During the visit, under the supervision of professional guides, students had the opportunity to visit the Fiat 500 and Lancia car factory.
