Biographical Note:

Graduate of the Faculty of Construction at the Silesian University of Technology, specialization: Technology and Management in Construction (1998). He defended his Master's thesis, whose supervisor was Henryk Krause, Ph. "In the same year, he was appointed to the post of assistant and sent for full-time doctoral studies at the Faculty of Construction at the Silesian University of Technology. In 2004 he defended with honours his doctoral thesis under the supervision of Adam Zybura, PhD: "Identification of corrosion rate of reinforcement of concrete elements on the basis of polarization measurements". The decision of the Faculty Council was confirmed by the distinction of the Minister of Infrastructure in April 2005 and the Individual Award of the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology II degree (2005). For the 2016-2020 cadence, he was elected as the Vice-Dean for General Affairs of the Faculty of Construction at the Silesian University of Technology.

Scientifically, he specializes in the issues of durability of concrete structures, mainly specializing in electrochemical studies of corrosion of reinforcing steel in concrete. He participated in 3 research projects of the State Committee for Scientific Research and the Operational Program Innovative Economy. He is the author and co-author of 64 national publications and three books published by PWN (Reinforced concrete structures. Atlas of drawings, 1st edition; Reinforced concrete structures according to Eurocode 2. Atlas of drawings, 2nd edition; Diagnosis of reinforced concrete structures. Studies of reinforcement corrosion and protective properties of concrete, vol. 2). He is also a co-author of one patent and three patent applications related to advanced corrosion diagnosis of reinforced concrete, in which electrochemical polarization methods were adapted.

He was the supervisor of nearly 60 master's theses, engineering theses and engineering projects. For his teaching activity, he received 3 Team Awards of the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology. For more than 10 years, as a member of PZITB (Polish Association of Building Technicians and Engineers), he has conducted training for engineers in the field of corrosion diagnosis of building structures.

He is a member of the PZITB Science Committee (2004), a member of the Silesian District Chamber of Civil Engineers (2006). He was vice president of the Silesian branch of the Association of Engineers and Technicians of Building Materials Industry (2014-2015). He was the Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the 7th Scientific Conference of Doctoral Students of Construction Faculties (2006) and a member of the Organizing Committee of the 2nd Conference (2001). In addition, he was a member of the Organizing Committee of the KONTRA Conference three times (2010, 2012, 2014) and Secretary in 2016.

He has nearly 20 years of experience in the construction engineering profession and for more than 10 years he has been fully licensed to design and direct construction works without limitations in the specialty of construction and building (2005). He was awarded the title of appraiser by the Association of Engineers and Technicians of Construction Materials Industry (2014). In addition, he has developed more than 130 technical expertise and construction projects.
