Start - Civil Engineering Laboratory - Lab of Building Dynamics
Lab of Building Dynamics
Administrator:
dr hab. inż. Krzysztof Gromysz, prof. PŚ
Range of research:
The Lab of Structural Dynamics carries out measurements of vibrations of building structure elements and of soil. The Lab deals with the research of dynamic parameters of structures. Measurements are carried out both in laboratory and in-situ conditions.
The main areas of research carried out in the laboratory are: determining the condition of the structure on the basis of measurements of the response to dynamic loads, modal analyzes of building structures, testing the impact of vibrations transmitted through the ground on structures and testing the impact of vibrations on people.
The equipment for vibration measurements includes vibration sensors (piezoelectric, fiber optic, indicator), an analyzer and specialized software. The modal analysis set is used to test the dynamic properties, in which the vibrations are excited with the help of the impulse exciter.
