Listen to the expert: dr Sturdy
We cordially invite everyone to the next POB1 meeting in the "Listen to the expert" series. Our speaker will be dr. Jacob T. Sturdy from NTNU Trondheim. His research focuses on the simulation of hemodynamics in vascular networks, medical digital twins based on personalized cardiovascular modelling, the role of arterial stiffening in cardiovascular disease, cardiovascular regulatory mechanisms, patient-specific hemodynamic modelling for diagnosis and prognosis of coronary artery disease, machine learning methods for integration of clinical data and research data in the calibration of patient-specific cardiovascular models. The publication list is available at https://www.ntnu.edu/employees/jacob.t.sturdy
Dr Sturdy will present a lecture entitled "Understanding and assessing computational models through uncertainty quantification and sensitivity analysis". This lecture will introduce the concepts and basic theory of uncertainty quantification and sensitivity analysis. The lecture will further present a discussion of some applications of these methods to computational models of blood flow, arterial deformation, and crystal plasticity, among others. These application examples will illustrate the concepts and methods further as well as provide examples of how the results of these analyses may result in deeper understanding of the models and the systems modelled, as well as guide future modelling efforts.
