FUNCTIONAL MINERS 01.2017
Otwarte spotkanie poświęcone programowaniu funkcyjnemu odbędzie się 26 stycznia 2017 r. o godz. 17:30 w sali 408.
Tematyka grupy skupia się na teorii języków programowania, funkcyjnych językach programowania i ogólnie funkcyjnym myśleniu. Na najbliższym spotkaniu odbędą się następujące wykłady:
- Artur Dębski - "Functional Bits in Ruby" - lekkie wprowadzenie do tematu programowania funkcyjnego na przykładzie niefunkcyjnego języka programowania.
- Michał Muskała - "Wprowadzenie do języka Elixir" - po rozgrzewce, Michał pomoże nam zgłębić temat programowania funkcyjnego prezentując wybrane koncepty w języku Elixir.
- Wojtek Gawroński - "Functional Programming In the Wild" - na sam koniec pokażemy sobie jak wygląda programowanie funkcyjne w praktyce - jakie niesie ze sobą zalety, co ułatwia, na co trzeba uważać - to wszystko na przykładzie dużego, żywego systemu.

It is with great honour that we inform you that Roman Wituła, DSc, Eng., Assoc. Prof. at Silesian University of Technology, a long-standing employee of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics, has been awarded the Gold Medal for Long-term Service, conferred by the President of the Republic of Poland.
Language success of students of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics
Two students of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics qualified for the second stage of the XXVI National Higher Technical Education English Language Olympiad!
Nearly 600 students from 15 technical universities from all over Poland took part in the competition. Congratulations and we keep our fingers crossed for further success!
Success of our Student in the competition "My Idea for Business"
A student of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics, Adrianna Maszniew, has won 3rd place in the 21st edition of the “My Idea for Business” competition!
The competition promotes entrepreneurship among students of the Silesian University of Technology, and her project was recognized for its innovation and market potential. Congratulations!
