Faculty of Biomedical Engineering

We are delighted to invite you to the Opening Ceremony of the 2026/2027 Academic Year at the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering, which will take place on 1 October 2026 at the Philips Auditorium (40a Roosevelta Street, Zabrze).

On this day, opening ceremonies will be held for students of two degree programmes:

• Biomedical Engineering: 9:00 a.m.
• Engineering Technologies in Forensics: 12:00 p.m.

The programme will include, among other events, an address by the Dean of the Faculty, dr. hab. inż. Marcin Basiaga, prof. PŚ, the official matriculation ceremony for first-year students, and inaugural lectures.

During the opening ceremony for the Biomedical Engineering programme, the lecture entitled “Between Design and the Patient. How Biomedical Engineering Is Changing Modern Medicine” will be delivered by mgr inż. Klaudia Cholewa.

During the opening ceremony for the Engineering Technologies in Forensics programme, a cooperation agreement with the Centralne Laboratorium Kryminalistyczne Policji will also be signed. The inaugural lecture, entitled “Centralne Laboratorium Kryminalistyczne Policji – centrum polskiej kryminalistyki”, will be delivered by insp. Iwona Marciniak-Krawczyk.
