On 9-10 July 2026, Bialystok University of Technology hosted the 5th Scientific Symposium and the 47th General Assembly of Members of the Polish Academy of Engineering (AIP).

The event was jointly opened by Professor Marta Kosior-Kazberuk, Rector of Bialystok University of Technology, and Professor Teofil Jesionowski, President of the Polish Academy of Engineering (AIP).

As part of the programme, participants were given the opportunity to visit and learn about the university’s state-of-the-art laboratories.

One of the agenda items of the General Assembly was a presentation on recommendations concerning the Academy’s international activities, particularly its participation in the CAETS Communication Prize, an audiovisual competition for short films promoting engineering to non-specialist audiences.

Subsequently, Professor Józef Gawlik, Chair of the Membership Committee, presented the profiles of five distinguished candidates seeking admission as Full Members of the Polish Academy of Engineering. Following a secret ballot, the General Assembly approved the admission of the following individuals:

• Professor Arkadiusz Gola (Lublin University of Technology) – a specialist in the design of flexible manufacturing systems and robotics.
• Professor Bożena Kaczmarska (Kielce University of Technology) – an expert in production engineering, quality management, and intellectual property.
• Professor Jerzy Łabaj (Silesian University of Technology / Łukasiewicz Research Network – Institute of Non-Ferrous Metals) – a renowned researcher in metallurgy and materials engineering.
• Professor Artur Nowoświat (Silesian University of Technology) – an expert in building acoustics and the application of machine learning in noise control.
• Wojciech Wawreniuk, MSc Eng. – an experienced designer, investment project manager, and specialist in the security systems and IT sector.

The photographs document the delegation of the Faculty of Materials Engineering and Industrial Digitalization and the Faculty of Transport and Aviation Engineering of the Silesian University of Technology, together with Professor Marta Kosior-Kazberuk, Rector of Bialystok University of Technology, Professor Anna Chrobok, Vice-Rector of the Silesian University of Technology, and Professor Teofil Jesionowski, President of the Polish Academy of Engineering.
