Industrial Informatics Students Achieve Outstanding Success: First and Third Place in the "From Idea to Industry" Competition

We are delighted to announce that students from the Department of Industrial Informatics (RM4) have achieved yet another remarkable success! This accomplishment is a fitting culmination of their recent study visit to the steelworks, where they had the opportunity to gain first-hand insight into modern technological processes and the challenges of today's metallurgical industry.

As previously reported, as part of our commitment to combining theoretical knowledge with industrial practice, students from our programme took part in a study visit to the steelworks. Accompanying this event was an engineering competition in which participants were challenged to demonstrate creativity, problem-solving skills through real-world case studies, and expertise in digitalization and production optimization—core areas of Industrial Informatics.

We are proud to announce that representatives of our Department achieved outstanding results in the competition:

  • First place was awarded to the team consisting of Kamil Warczek, Bartosz Sęk, and Jakub Archabuz. Their project received the highest recognition from the jury thanks to its innovative and unconventional approach to the industrial challenge, combining simulation techniques, the development of laboratory-scale models, and the implementation of industrial software applications.
  • Third place was awarded to another team from our programme, comprising Jakub Jaworek, Szymon Topól, and Antoni Surowy, further confirming the exceptional level of technical expertise and practical skills demonstrated by our students.

This achievement once again demonstrates that education at the Faculty of Materials Engineering and Industrial Digitalization, including the implementation of Project-Based Learning (PBL) and close cooperation with industry and other socio-economic partners, provides our students with excellent preparation to address real-world industrial challenges and meet the evolving needs of the labour market.

We warmly congratulate the award-winning students on this outstanding achievement. We are proud of your dedication and wish you continued success in both your academic and professional careers.
