Mainframe CRC Academy
In Kyndryl's Katowice office, in-person classes have resumed as part of the popular educational program, the Corporate Readiness Certificate. During the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic, all CRC courses were held exclusively online. Now, starting in March, students from the Silesian University of Technology have been visiting the Kyndryl office several times a week to participate in classes within the Mainframe CRC Academy. The course consists of 30 hours of both theoretical and practical sessions, covering fundamental skills in operating the z/OS system as well as basic knowledge of Mainframe infrastructure. For participants, this is a unique opportunity to gain new competencies and a great chance to build a network of new relationships and contacts.
Mainframe technology has been used for years to process the most critical data. More than 70% of Fortune 500 companies use Mainframe systems, along with 96 out of the top 100 banks and 9 out of 10 insurance companies. The Mainframe market is growing rapidly, and more companies are looking to invest in this technology. An increase in investment is expected in this area, which in turn is likely to boost interest among potential job candidates specializing in Mainframe technology.
In addition to certificates confirming a successful final exam, graduates of the Mainframe CRC Academy will also receive micro-credentials issued through the Odznaka+ application. This app is a key element of a pilot project on micro-credentials led by the Educational Research Institute – a national research institute operating under the supervision of the Ministry of National Education.
