Doctoral School

On September 30th, 2025, the Inter-University Inauguration of the Academic Year will once again take place. This time we will celebrate the beginning of the academic year 2025/2026. One of the most important events in the academic calendar of Silesia will start at 16:00 at the headquarters of the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice (NOSPR) and, as every year, will be preceded by a March of Rectors through the streets of Katowice.

The program includes “a scientific town” in the Katowice market square and a ceremonial March of the Rector’s processions from the market square to the seat of the NOSPR.

The official part will take place in the NOSPR concert hall in Katowice. Start at 16.00.

In this part, matriculation and swearing-in of doctoral students and the inaugural lecture are planned.

During the artistic setting, in the official part the following will take part: Cieszyn Brass Orchestra of the University of Silesia, University of Silesia Choir "Harmony", "Silent" Choir of the University of Silesia, Academic Choir of the Silesian University of Technology, Choir of the Silesian Medical University in Katowice, Choir of the University of Economics in Katowice.

The participants of the inauguration will also listen to the concert Overture to the Academic Year performed by the Symphony Orchestra of the Silesian University of Technology and the Cieszyn Brass Orchestra of the University of Silesia under the baton of Miłosz Korpol.
