PAN Scientific Award for Dr. Piotr Wodarki, professor at the SUT
Dr. Piotr Wodarski, Professor at the Silesian University of Technology and member of the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering, has received the Scientific Award from the Division IV of Technical Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences. The award was granted for his research work entitled "A Method for Detecting Momentary Postural Corrections as a Tool for Differentiating Human Balance Strategies in the Context of Diagnosing Neurodegenerative Diseases." This work represents a breakthrough achievement in the field of patient health monitoring, particularly in the early detection of balance disorders. The developed method represents a significant step forward in the diagnosis of neurodegenerative diseases at an early stage. Its application in clinical trials, conducted in collaboration with renowned research centers—including the Department of Surgery at Saarland University and the Department of Neurology at Christian-Albrechts University in Germany—underscores the project's international scope and creates a real opportunity to implement the developed solution in clinical practice worldwide.
