Project description: Death is an inevitable phenomenon. Despite the enormous advancement of knowledge, the involvement of science and technology in helping the chronically ill, helplessness and the effort to participate in suffering are inscribed in human life. For this reason, there is a constant search for the means of a good death. The doctrine of mercy based on charity contributed to the implementation of palliative medicine. “Pallium” means cloak / covering, so palliative care can be understood as help given with kindness during the inevitable stage of the life of the terminally ill. The hospice project focuses on the patient who may receive psychological help and support at the end of his life. Mental health deterioration can be especially worsened in patients who live in concrete cities away from nature. Therefore, the building was designed in accordance with the principles of biophilic design. The main body containing the hospice rooms has been enclosed in a glass structure, which guarantees acoustic comfort and the possibility of communing with nature all year round, regardless of the weather. In the interiors, natural materials prevail, which, together with a large number of plants, bring the user of the building closer to nature.
