CORROSION IS A PROCESS THAT…

changes the materials around us every day. Although it is often associated with destruction, it can also create unique structures, colors, and forms. What if we looked at corrosion not only as a technical problem, but also as a source of inspiration?

If you are a Polish secondary‑school student and enjoy creating, we invite you to take part in the art competition “Painted with Rust.” This is a proposal for those who want to combine science with creativity and present their own perspective on the phenomenon of corrosion.

You may submit paintings, drawings, graphic works, as well as sculptures and other three‑dimensional forms. The technique is entirely open — what matters most is the idea, interpretation of the theme, and your imagination.

Show us how you see corrosion. Create your work and test your skills in our competition, which—together with the photography contest — we are organizing for the third time!

Don’t wait. Competition submissions are accepted only until 10 April 2026, 12:00 PM.

This year’s edition of the art competition “Painted with Rust” exceeded our boldest expectations in terms of participant interest. We received a record‑breaking 90 submissions, representing a tremendous increase compared to previous years (2024: 26 works; 2025: only 6 works). Such an enthusiastic response resulted in an exceptionally diverse and high‑quality gallery of entries.

The artistic level of the submitted works posed a real challenge for the jury. After extensive deliberations, it was decided to award prizes to three works occupying the podium places, as well as to grant three additional distinctions to entries that particularly stood out due to their form and message.

Moreover, this year we decided to honor one work with a special award funded by the Association of Engineers and Technicians of the Chemical Industry (SITPChem). This prize was granted to the single best work in the opinion of the jury among all submissions, as a special recognition of its artistic and interpretative value.

We invite you to view the gallery of works below. Each piece is accompanied by its author’s description, which allows for a better understanding of the creators’ intentions and a deeper appreciation of the presented vision (simply click or tap on the artwork).

We warmly congratulate all participants of the competition, and especially the authors of the awarded, distinguished, and specially honored works. Thank you for the record‑breaking interest, and we already invite you to take part in the next edition of the competition.
