The award was granted for a proprietary program of interdisciplinary design classes in the field of revitalization, under the supervision of Dr. Hab. Eng. Arch. Michał Stangel, Professor of the Silesian University of Technology, in collaboration with the University of Economics in Katowice, at the initiative of Professor Adam Drobniak.

ROPT 2.0 Project Laboratory – a research and development initiative funded by the Marshal's Office of the Silesian Voivodeship, implemented by the Silesian University of Technology and the University of Economics for three consecutive semesters (2024-2026). Implemented under the project number NB:01/010/NB_25/0120 – Co-creation with the University of Economics in Katowice of a catalog of model solutions/bank of transformation projects, as part of the work of interdisciplinary student teams, in the preparation of area development concepts, as part of the research and development project entitled "Regional Observatory of the Transformation Process 2.0" (Head: Michał Stangel). The project develops scenarios for the revitalization of post-mining areas in the spirit of sustainable development and the circular economy. The program includes spatial and economic analyses, study visits with municipalities and the mining sector, expert seminars, and the development of design concepts, providing an important platform for regional cooperation. The topic directly connects with POB4 and the themes of EurecaPro and Hi-EurecaPro, where experiences related to the circular economy and the transformation of industrial heritage were used in the teaching process.
The project received a distinction from the International Union of Architects - UIA Award for Innovation in Architectural Education.
