As part of the accompanying programme the archiDREAM Silesia Multiconference, two solo exhibitions by distinguished artists and professors affiliated with the University of Prishtina - Xhevdet Pantina and Suad Rama - are presented. Although formally and expressively distinct, their works converge within a shared reflection on the relationship between the body, memory and structure – understood in terms of both imagery and architecture.
Xhevdet Pantina’s series ‘Images in Depth’ leads the viewer towards an introspective, multi-layered pictorial space where memory, identity and historical experience are condensed. His painting – situated at the intersection of abstract expressionism and neo-figuration – builds tension between spontaneity and control, chaos and structure. The characteristic layering, intense brushwork and expressive colour palette produce works that do not merely represent but actively engage, drawing the viewer into a psychological and emotional space. Fragmentary, distorted human forms become here signs of existential experience, and traces of memory – both personal and collective – are inscribed in the painterly material as discontinuous, recurring tensions.
Suad Rama’s exhibition ‘00…’ constitutes an intense study of the body as a process – a dynamic, unstable structure subject to constant transformation. Working with a radically limited, almost monochromatic palette, the artist attention focuses on matter, gesture and layering. In his works, the body ceases to be a closed form – it undergoes fragmentation, deformation and multiplication, evoking architectural structures subjected to tension and disintegration. In this context, the body becomes a space of flow and transformation, and at the same time a carrier for experiences transcending the individual dimension. Rama proposes a vision in which the body and architecture interpenetrate as living, processual organisms.
Both exhibitions, though employing different means – the intensity of colour and gesture in Pantina’s work and the reduction of colour and analysis of form in Rama’s – address shared questions concerning the nature of structure, its fragility and capacity for transformation. In the context of Multiconference archiDREAM Silesia, they may be understood as an extension of reflections on architecture: not merely as physical space, but as a complex, living system of relationships – between the body, matter, memory and experience. This is an artistic dialogue in which image and body become a site of negotiation between presence and disappearance, construction and decay, individual experience and collective history.
