From November 29 to December 2, 2025, the Technical University of Ostrava (VSB-TUO) hosted an international student architecture workshop and the opening of an exhibition of works by staff and students from the Faculty of Architecture of the Silesian University of Technology.

The event was organized by the VSB Department of Architecture and the +iKawa Student Research Group operating at the Faculty of Architecture of the Silesian University of Technology.

The workshops were held in the design studio of the VSB Department of Architecture. The Czech tutors were Professor Eva Špačková, and the Polish tutors were Dr. Eng. Arch. Jerzy Wojewódka, Professor of the Silesian University of Technology, and Dr. Eng. Arch. Jacek Krych from the Department of Architecture-2. Students from our faculty, Julia Więckowska, Alicja Kwiotkowska, Oliwia Młynek, and Julia Puczka, participated in the conceptual work. The design brief involved creating a temporary spatial form to complement the undeveloped urban grid area of ​​the city center, adjacent to Masaryk Square in the center of Ostrava. The workshop was also accompanied by a vernissage, opening an exhibition of works by staff and students. The exhibition is the result of long-standing collaboration between the Faculty of Architecture in Gliwice and Ostrava. Its goal was to familiarize the VSB partners with the design and research work conducted at the Faculty of Architecture of the Silesian University of Technology. The exhibition's title, "Connecting," symbolically emphasizes the flow of experiences and ideas shared by staff and students during workshops and exhibitions organized over many years.
