On September 9, 2025, the Vice-Rector for Science and International Cooperation, Prof. Sebastian Werle, PhD, DSc, Eng., met with young scientists from the Silesian University of Technology, recipients of the 2025 Ministry of Science and Higher Education scholarship for outstanding young scientists. Among the winners is Karolina Chodura, PhD, Eng., Arch., Assistant Professor in the Department of Theory, Design, and History of Architecture at the Faculty of Architecture.

In the 20th edition of the competition, the Ministry received 1,711 applications for scholarships for outstanding young scientists demonstrating significant achievements in their research. Ministerial scholarships were awarded to 228 scientists representing all 53 scientific disciplines, including two scholarships in Architecture and Urban Planning. Six representatives of the Silesian University of Technology were among the laureates: Alina Brzęczek-Szafran, PhD, Eng., and Krzysztof Szumi. Arch. Karolina Chodura, PhD, Eng. Agnieszka Korus, MSc, Eng. Jakub Ochmann, PhD, Eng. Adam Skowronek, and PhD, Eng. Ida Skubis.
