On June 19, 2025, as a side event of the Venice Biennale, the awards ceremony for the prestigious international competition for thesis projects, the Young Talent Architecture Award 2025, was held in Venice. It is organized by the Mies van der Rohe Foundation and the European Creative Europe program.
Among the 23 projects recognized for the Shortlist was Julia Wild's "Lands of Borderlands," developed under the supervision of Dr. Eng. Architect Jan Kubec.
This is a significant distinction – nearly 300 projects from across Europe were among the nominated projects.
The event took place as part of the 19th International Architecture Exhibition - La Biennale di Venezia and was accompanied by the opening of the exhibition "Intelligens. Talent. EUmies Awards Young Talent 2025" at Palazzo Mora, showcasing all the recognized works.
The nominated works from the Faculty of Architecture at the Silesian University of Technology included two projects:
"Lands from Borderlands" - author: Julia Wild, supervisor: Dr. Eng. Arch. Jan Kubec
"Reclamation, revitalization, and redevelopment of the post-industrial heap in Zabrze-Biskupice" - author: Paweł Białas, supervisor: Dr. Eng. Arch. Jerzy Wojewódka, professor at the Silesian University of Technology
