Jubilee exhibition of the 50th anniversary of Adam W. Styrylski's creative and teaching work
In June, we had the pleasure of viewing an exhibition of paintings by Adam Styrylski, a long-time employee of the Faculty of Architecture. The jubilee exhibition of the 50th anniversary of creative and didactic work was part of the first edition of the Gliwice Biennale, as one of the points of the program proposed by the Silesian University of Technology. Adam W. Styrylski - painter, graphic artist, sculptor and lecturer at the Faculty of Architecture of the Silesian University of Technology, where he taught drawing and painting, educating many generations of future architects, for decades he created at the interface of science, philosophy and art, and his works - saturated with bold color combinations - are a record of a personal dialogue with the surrounding world. The key aspect of his works is color, playing with the color range, which is also so important in architectural design, in shaping the urbanized environment surrounding us - the city. The exhibition presents painting, but the artist also created graphics and small sculptural forms, which were created in parallel with the author's didactic work. In the context of the first edition of the Gliwice Biennale, the 80th anniversary of the Silesian University of Technology and the 50th anniversary of the artist's creative work, the exhibition of his works - a long-time employee of the Silesian University of Technology, a long-time resident of Gliwice, becomes a certain symbol.
