Students of the 6th semester of Architecture (engineering studies) had the opportunity to take part in the competition "Innovative membrane roofs", organized by the Faculty of Architecture in cooperation with the company Abastran from Tychy - specializing in the design, packaging and installation of membrane roofs, and at the same time sponsoring the awards.
The initiator of the competition was dr hab. inż. arch. Krzysztof Gerlic.
The competition was attended by 33 students, forming 15 design teams. The task of the participants was to design a light, modern roof structure using membrane technology. The projects were assessed by a jury composed of experts in the field of architecture, construction and implementation of tensioned membranes.
The official announcement of the results and the award ceremony took place on June 13 at the Faculty of Architecture in Gliwice. The jury appreciated the creativity, aesthetic level and technological and material maturity of the presented solutions.
The main prize (PLN 2,500) went to the team: Natalia Zięta and Aleksandra Wojciechowska
Second place (PLN 1,500) was won by: Ariana Nocoń, Magdalena Lebiocka and Jessica Napiórkowska
Honorable mentions (PLN 500 each) were awarded to:
- Kornelia Kajda
- Kinga Gałązka and Martyna Ćwiąkała
- Michał Głąb, Kamil Grenczak and Natalia Wieczorek
