The Urbanmodel Scientific Club Team from the Faculty of Architecture of the Silesian University of Technology won the Main Prize in the category of quality and innovation for GRA W METROPOLIĘ card game board game

GRA W METROPOLIĘ aims to popularize knowledge about the Upper Silesian-Zagłębie metropolis and to understand its multi-faceted complexity.
We immodestly believe that METROPOLI is unique because:
It is a game for everyone, not just architects
It is a game that can be played more effectively and won only by getting to know the metropolis well
It is a game in which the board is a fragment of the metropolis plan, and the fields in which the player invests are selected locations
It is a game that promotes public transport, which supports more sustainable development of cities
It is a local game, geographically set in the GZM metropolis, in which quizzes refer to Silesian tradition and even language
It is also a card game, in which cards represent knowledge about the region and allow you to experience space in the form of 3D models
It has recognizable and unusual pawns representing miniatures of the most important objects (Spodek Radiostacji and others)
It is a game in which design educates

The game has been prepared for recipients of all ages. It offers a classic card game, arranging a map of the metropolis like a puzzle, supports orientation, contains quizzes and board games that bring closer knowledge about GZM. The cards contain references to locations that can be experienced in the form of 3D models, also using augmented reality. GAME IN METROPOLIS demonstrates its potential and also teaches through entertainment.
