The ceremonial inauguration of the academic year for students and employees of the Faculty of Architecture took place on October 11 at the Congress Center of the Silesian University of Technology. The ceremony was attended by the Rector, Prof. Dr. Hab. Eng. Bożena Skołud and a group of deans:
• Prof. Barbara Klemczak - Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering
• Prof. Krzysztof Nowacki - Dean of the Faculty of Materials Engineering
• Prof. Małgorzata Szymiczek - Vice-Dean for Infrastructure and Organization of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering
• Prof. Anna Manowska - Vice-Dean for Infrastructure and Organization of the Faculty of Mining, Safety Engineering and Industrial Automation
• Prof. Andrzej Kubik - Vice-Dean for Science and Cooperation at the Faculty of Transport and Aeronautical Engineering

• Prof. Anna Kaźmierczak-Bałata - Deputy Director for Science and Cooperation, Institute of Physics, Scientific and Educational Centre

The inauguration was also honored by the presence of representatives of the socio-economic environment and the presidents of partner cities. The numerous first-year students of architecture and interior design took a ceremonial oath. The Rector also presented awards to students who achieved the highest results in the recruitment process:

Individual and team awards from the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology were also presented to the Faculty's employees.

The ceremonial presentation of the Prof. Zygmunt Majerski Medal is also a tradition of the inauguration. This year's winner of this award was Prof. Klaudiusz Fross, former Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, who gave the inaugural lecture.
