Dear all,

My 8-year term as Dean of the Faculty of Architecture at the Silesian University of Technology (2016-2024) has ended. It was a time of great challenges, constant changes, work and many sacrifices, and great satisfaction.

During these years, as a Faculty, we achieved the impossible, we achieved what could not even be dreamed of.

We achieved numerous historical results, shaping a recognizable brand, one of the most significant architectural scientific, creative and teaching centers in Poland. We achieved the highest financial result, the highest renovation fund, the highest external subsidy and the highest BK subsidy. The Faculty's position is evidenced by the scientific category A obtained twice, and thus the right to habilitate, twice 2nd place in the Perspektywy ranking and twice 1st place in the Builder ranking, international accreditation. In 2023, the Architecture course was distinguished as excellent by the PKA. We managed to establish a branch in Katowice, which is popular among candidates today and equipped with modern workshops. The Faculty rewarded the socio-economic environment by awarding prestigious distinctions: the Silesian Great Construction Award, the Medal of King Casimir the Great and the Ambassador of Modern Technologies.

For me personally, it was a time of continuous learning, gaining experience, a lot of work, perseverance, satisfaction and joy.

I have always considered the good working atmosphere, supporting individual ideas and bold investing in our development to be the most important.

I would like to thank all those who supported me. It is thanks to you that we have achieved so much.

Thanks to the entire community of the Faculty, Employees, Students, PhD students, Partners for their commitment and contribution to the development and didactic, scientific and organizational achievements of the Faculty of Architecture.

I would like to thank the Rector's Authorities, members of the Senate, colleagues Deans, Vice-Deans, Dean's Councils, Heads of Departments, managers of the Dean's Office, managers of Facilities, administrative support of the Dean's Office and BOS, and technical support.

I would especially like to thank my wife Mira, who always stood by my side and supported me, was an active companion promoting the Faculty for these 8 years.

To the new Authorities, I wish above all efforts to maintain the level of organizational culture we have achieved.

Now I have a one-year sabbatical ahead of me, waiting for the acceptance of two high-scoring articles and the result of the grant application, as well as a few books to write ... time to sum up the scientific achievements and for what there was no time for in recent years.
