Ladies and Gentlemen
We invite you to read the information about the Shaping 9 international conference, which will be held in Warsaw on September 25-27, 2024 in the buildings of the campus of the Warsaw University of Technology. The conference is co-organized by the European Ceramic Society (ECERS), the Polish Ceramic Society (PTCer) and the Faculty of Chemistry of the Warsaw University of Technology.
We also encourage young researchers to participate in the Summer School on September 24-25, 2024, which will accompany the Shaping 9 conference and in the competition for the best "graphical abstract" (https://shaping9.org/graphical-abstract-students-contest ).
The abstract registration and submission system is open. The deadline for submitting abstracts is May 26, 2024, but it will be extended by 3 weeks.
Plenary lectures will be delivered by: prof. Rodrigo Moreno from the Institute of Glass and Ceramics in Spain and prof. Martin Trunec from the Technical University of Brno. Invited lectures will be delivered by speakers from Switzerland, South Korea, Argentina, France, Japan, Brazil and Poland.
The conference covers the following issues related to the processes of forming and sintering ceramic materials
Powder processing:
- room temperature compaction: die pressing, CIP
- pressing combined with sintering: HP, HIP, SPS, cold sintering
Plastic forming: extrusion, low and high pressure injection moulding
Colloidal processing: slip casting, gelcasting, tape-casting, direct-coagulation casting, colloidal stabilization, rheology of suspensions
Additive manufacturing: SLS, DLP, DIW, FDM, LIS, etc.
Innovative shaping processes:
- manufacture of thin and thick films and coatings: CVD, PVD, sol-gel, dip coating, spin coating, electrophoretic deposition, functional coatings deposited on glass, etc.
- manufacture of porous ceramics: foaming, ice-templating, burnout of fugitive additives
- manufacture of laminates, functionally graded materials and glass
- biomimetic manufacturing
Subsequent processing: drying, debinding, joining, modelling, materials characterization
