The Second National Materials Engineering Day

15 renowned universities and 5 research institutes from all over Poland initiated an event that popularizes materials engineering. On March 22nd, the National Materials Engineering Day will be held for the second time. Throughout Poland, participants will break the attendance record during the largest materials engineering lesson.

At the Silesian University of Technology, the National Materials Engineering Day is prepared at the Faculty of Materials Engineering in Katowice and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Gliwice. The main event of the National Materials Engineering Day will be breaking the Polish record in the largest material engineering lesson, which will take place at the Silesian University of Technology on March 22nd at 10:00. We invite pupils from schools in our region. Detailed information will soon be available on the websites: www.polsl.pl/rm/, www.polsl.pl/rmt/ and www.materialowe.pl.

The National Materials Engineering Day is an excellent opportunity to emphasize the importance of this field of science, promote achievements and increase society's awareness of materials engineering and the role it plays.

Materials engineering deals with the design, production and testing of various materials and production technologies, both existing and conceptually considered. Its goal is to search for material and technological solutions that will allow the best use of material properties in many industries, including aviation, automotive, electronics, energy, household appliances and medicine.

Modern materials are the future of technology - that is why the event organizers want to convince secondary school students that by taking up studies in materials engineering, they will have a chance to enter the fascinating world of materials science and manufacturing technology. Both this field of science and higher education have enormous research and application potential in the coming years.

The organizers of the National Materials Engineering Day are:

  • AGH University of Science and Technology
  • Czestochowa University of Technology,
  • Gdańsk University of Technology,
  • Cracow University of Technology
