An employee of our Department, Dr Waldemar Mucha, received a scholarship from the Ministry of Science for outstanding young scientists for significant scientific achievements o and achievements in scientific activity. This year, out of 1708 applications, scholarships were awarded to 228 young scientists from various scientific disciplines, including 9 from the Silesian University of Technology. Dr Waldemar Mucha is involved in the development of methods related to real-time hybrid simulations using the finite element method, model reduction techniques and artificial intelligence methods. His research interests are mainly in FEM modelling, development and application of optimisation methods, artificial neural networks and deep learning techniques, microcontroller programming and real-time computing. The scholarship winner is the author of numerous publications in prestigious journals and overseas research internships.
