On October 24, a meeting of members of the Biomechanics Section of the Mechanics Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences was held, inaugurating the new term of 2024-2027. Its organizer was Prof. Ewa Majchrzak, Ph.D., Chairwoman of the Biomechanics Section.

In the first part of the meeting, the Chairwoman welcomed the arriving members of the Biomechanics Section of KM PAN, as well as the Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Prof. Marcin Adamiak, Ph.D., who gave a presentation on the organizational structure, courses of study and image of the Faculty. In the later part of the meeting, the incoming guests were presented with nominations for membership in the Section.

During the scientific part of the meeting, the seminar “Selected issues of biomedical engineering” was held. Prof. Marek Wyleżoł and Dr Eng Malgorzata Muzalewska presented a paper titled. “Virtual Modeling in Implantology – Examples of Applications,” Prof. Grzegorz Kokot spoke about the use of digital image correlation in experimental research in biomechanics, while Dr Eng Anna Skorupa presented a paper titled ”Digital Image Correlation. “Multi-scale modeling of heat and mass flow in tissues and cells during the cryopreservation process taking into account interval methods.”
