In May, a monograph on the issues of large-scale modeling and optimization of modern materials and structures was published by Wiley Publishing House. One of the co-authors of the monograph is an employee of our Department, Prof. Waclaw Kuś, and two former employees of MiIO, Prof. Tadeusz Burczynski, former head of MiIO, and Dr. Adam Mrozek, Eng. The monograph, entitled “Multiscale Modelling and Optimization of Materials and Structures,” addresses very important topics related to the identification and optimization of parameters under various multiscale modeling methods. It describes the results of research using new techniques and opportunities to design modern materials and structures with improved quality, strength and performance parameters, as well as the creation of reliable models that take into account structural, material and topological properties at different scales. This monograph can be a valuable resource for young researchers and students seeking information on developing their own models, writing their own computer programs and implementing them into simulation systems.
