Witold Ogierman PhD Eng received the Professor Michał Życzkowski Award from the Mechanics Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences. The award was presented during a meeting of the Mechanics Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Krakow on November 26, 2025.

Witold Ogierman is involved in the development of methods for multiscale modeling of the mechanical properties of composite materials, which allow, among other things, the prediction of material properties at the macroscopic level depending on their microstructural parameters. He is the author of numerous publications in prestigious journals and co-author of a patent.

During the award ceremony, the winner also gave a lecture on the application of two-stage homogenization combining the features of the Mori-Tanaka method and numerical homogenization in the analysis of composite materials.
