On June 17, 2024, the International Student Scientific Conference TalentDetector2024_Summer was held at the Education and Congress Center of the Silesian University of Technology.
The conference allows for the presentation of projects conducted with the industry as part of the activities of Student Scientific Circles, doctorates, projects implemented in the form of PBL - Project Based Learning as part of the Excellence Initiative - Research University at the Silesian University of Technology, PBL in the framework of EURECA PRO/European University in Responsible Consumption and Production, international bilateral cooperation ERASMUS+ and International Visegrad Fund.
142 participants from Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Georgia, Iran, Slovakia, Turkey, Ukraine and Poland presented 83 scientific articles. The conference materials were published in the form of a monograph.
The TalentDetector2024_Summer conference was accompanied by the implementation of the project of the International Visegrad Foundation V4 Generation Mobility Mini-Grant No. 12410044 @visegradfund, which is the result of cooperation between the Association of Alumni of the Silesian University of Technology and the University of Zilina in Slovakia, in which the participants are 30 students and 12 researchers from the University of Zilina in Slovakia and from Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice. Participants worked in the laboratories of the Department of Engineering Materials and Biomaterials, the Materials Research Laboratory and the Scientific and Educational Laboratory of Nanotechnology and Material Technologies. Familiarization with the history and culture of Silesia took place through visits to the Historic Silver Mine, the Museum in Tarnowskie Góry and tasting of regional dishes in the historic Sedlaczek restaurant.
